Meet Information

 

Site:                 Gettysburg Area High School, located 1 mile north of Gettysburg on Old Harrisburg Road (Business 15 N)

 

Courses:          All grass with Ύ mile of winding trail.  Mostly flat with one long gradual upgrade.  Race start and finish behind school building.  Box start.  High School = 5,000 meters.  Middle School/JH = 2 miles.

 

Entry:               Entry is by invitation only. Forms and fees from schools not formally invited will be returned. This meet will be sanctioned by the NFHS. Only eligible runners representing invited member schools may participate.

Race Groups:   Group 1 Elite Schools   Open to all teams and individuals*2 regardless of enrollment.

High School      Group 2 All Schools      Open to all teams regardless of enrollment.

Group 3 Small Schools  Open to Pennsylvania 2A teams or out-of-state teams from schools with enrollments in grades 9 to 12 of less than 450 boys or 450 girls.

                        *1 High school teams must score in a varsity race in order to enter a JV race.  JV races are open to seniors.

                                *2 Teams entered in G2 or G3 may enter up to two elite individuals in the G1 Race.

 

Scoring:           Top 5 finishers score.  Sixth and seventh finishers will displace.  Additional finishers will not displace.

Awards:            Awards follow a “Historic Gettysburg” theme.  Team champion trophy is a model cannon mounted on a hardwood base with the GXCI logo as a backdrop.  Trophy is a one-time award.  Repeat champions receive a plate to mount on previously awarded trophy.  Medals are custom cast with GXCI logo.

Entry Information

 

Entry:               Entry is by invitation only. Forms and fees from schools not formally invited will be returned. This meet will be sanctioned by the NFHS. Only eligible runners representing invited member schools may participate.

 

Entry Fees:       Boys and Girls are separate teams.

 

                        Make checks payable to: “GASD-XC Fund”

 

 

                        High School Team (boys and girls are separate teams):

   11 or more entries     =       $100

   5 to 10 entries           =         $60

   Individual entries       =         $12   /runner

                               

                                *High school teams must score in a varsity race.  A team’s remaining paid entries may run in the corresponding JV race.

 

                        Middle School/JH Team (boys and girls are separate teams):

 

   5 or more entries       =     $50

   Individual entries       =     $10/runner

 

 

Online              Coaches must open an account and enter their rosters online at www.directathletics.com.

Registration:    Separate accounts are required for high school and middle school teams.  Roster may be updated at any time until 8:00 am on Wednesday, September 5th.  No changes will be accepted on race day.

 

                     Please update your entries before 8:00 am on September 5th. Please uncheck the names of runners who will not be participating.

 

                     No changes to entries will be accepted after 8:00 am on September 5th.

 

 

Important         April        27   Contract received by race director.

Dates:               August    21   Check separate HS and MS online entry accounts at www.directathletics.com.

                        Sept         5   Entry Fees received by race director.

Sept         5   On-Line Entry Closes at 8:00 am.  The race is only 3 days away.  Please update your entries and uncheck the names of runners who will not be participating.
