It's been
busier than ever here at Mountain Maryland Marathon (M3) headquarters as we've
been making improvements to our processes and adding a handful of new events
for late 2009 and throughout 2010.
Next up:
- 8.30.09 -
Mount Savage 5-mile and 1.5-mile run. Race time 6:30 p.m. $3 entry fee (free
for M3 club members)
- 9.19.09 -
Iron Rail Days 5K and 1-mile run/walk, Mount Savage.
- 9.26.09 -
Allegany County Special Olympics Trail Pull 7K - 6:55 a.m. start
- 11.8.09 -
Helmstetter's Curve Distance Run 12K, 6K and 1.25-mile cross country run/walk
near LaVale. 1:15 p.m. start

kickoff meeting for the 2nd annual Mountain Maryland Marathon Festival,
scheduled for April 17-18, 2010.

date & time: Monday, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Place:
Leake Room, inside Cordts P.E. Center, Frostburg State
University, Frostburg, Md.
Agenda: To
review early 2009, preview the rest of '09 and much of 2010. Also, a discussion
of key decision-makers and nominations for club officers.
COMING UP
FOR 2010
* A new Endurance Series Championship point-based scoring
system for marathon club-sponsored races in 2010. A year-long competition,
there will be separate award categories for male and female age divisions. Age
divisions will depends upon participation. You don't have to be a club member
to compete for series/points championship or age division awards (but you also
won't get the club discounts on entry fees for each of the races). We also
might add a couple of non club-sponsored races to the mix just to make it
interesting.
