The Winfield Middle School girls cross country team pulled off a rare feat Wednesday when they posted a perfect score to win the Charleston Catholic Invitational meet at Camp Virgil Tate.
The Winfield girls finished in the top five places in the race, resulting in a perfect score of 15. The Lady Generals have now won seven meets in a row.

The Winfield boys’ team took first place in the meet ahead of Ripley.

Pacing the Winfield girls, and taking first place overall, was Brittney McMillion who ran 3,200 meters in 12:31 minutes. Second place went to Rachael Englund with a time of 12:33. Rounding out the team score were Alyssa Rittinger, third in 12:37; Taylor Walroth, fourth in 12:46; and Alexis Imperial, fifth in 12:57.
Perfect Score
Also finishing in the top 10 for Winfield, were Jordan Pauley, sixth in 13:27; Kaylee Cross, seventh in 13:33; Katie Bryant, ninth in 13:40; and Nikki Shrader, tenth in 13:41.

Finishing in the top 10 in the boys’ division were Winfield runners Braxton McMillion, first in 11:14; Desean Willams, third in 11:52; Eric Johns, sixth in 12:01; and R.J. Weiford, seventh in 12:05.
The Winfield Middle School cross country teams will run the MVAC Conference Championships on
Tuesday, October 18th at Ripley.
