Zimmerman Invitational
Middletown swept both divisions of the 39th Zimmerman Invitational at Walkersville MD High School, the boys winning a landslide with 166 points and the girls holding off South Carroll, 122 to 103.5.

BOYS - Derek Dye's triple in the jumps (6-4.25, 20-5, 41-0.25) paced the Knights, who also got victories from Keith Dochtermann in the 100 (11.1), Reed Saunders in the pole vault (12-6), and Steve Hanson in the 300 hurdles (42.7).  TEAM SCORES:  Middletown 166,  FSK 99, South Carroll 61, Bowling Brook 52, Bishop McNamara 51, Walkersville 39, River Hill 34, Centennial 31, Brunswick 22, Catoctin 3.

GIRLS -  Middletown depth paid off with multiple scorers in seven events.  Lady Knight winners were Randy Buzzell in the 800 and 3000 (2:25.5 and 10:41.3), Megan Marcantonio SP (34-5), Natalie Dye PV (9-6), and the 4x400 relay (4:17.5).   Kathy Messner of Catoctin won four events including a long jump battle with South Carroll's Pun Chittchang in the 19 foot range, Kathy's 19-6 topping Pun's 19-0.   TEAM SCORES: Middletown 122, South Carroll 103.5, River Hill 76, Brunswick 70, Catoctin 52, FSK 37, Bishop McNamara 35, Walkersville 28, Centennial 17.5, Frederick 17.
