Robinette pulls double duty in Main Street Mile
Hawkins, Sober take individual victories
FROSTBURG – Just a few hours after competing in the Maryland Class 1A West Region cross country championship in Williamsport on Thursday, 15-year-old Tim Robinette placed 13th in the Main Street Mile in Frostburg in a time of 5 minutes, 5.3 seconds.
Robinette, a junior at Allegany High School, participated in the event to try and maintain or improve upon his 25th spot in the Queen City Striders series standings. The Main Street Mile was the seventh in an eight-race circuit. The event is unique with its 6:35 p.m. start time, beginning just before the start of the Mountain City's Halloween Parade. Vaulters soar “Above the Bar” at HCC
HAGERSTOWN, Md. – While many local area runners took the weekend off or focused on postseason racing opportunities, nearly two dozen of the area’s best prep pole vaulters wrapped up the “Above the Bar” Pole Vault Clinic on Saturday at Hagerstown Community College in preparation of the upcoming indoor track and field season.

Bonnette places 10th in NCR Marathon
SPARKS, Md. – Beall High School graduate Scott Bonnette averaged better than seven minutes per mile to earn a top-10 finish on Saturday at the NCR Trail Marathon in Sparks, Md.
Bonnette, 20, of Frostburg and currently a sophomore at Wheeling Jesuit University, finished 10th overall and fifth in his age group by crossing the line in an unofficial chip time of 2 hours, 57 minutes and 17 seconds. Doug Mock, 41, of Ellicott City, Md., won with an official time of 2:41:52.
