McFadden wins 2 silvers at Paralympics
BALTIMORE < The Baltimore Sun reported today that a former high school
student from Howard County has won two silver medals in track at the 2008
Paralympic Games in Beijing.
Tatyana McFadden, 19, of Clarksville, finished second in both the womenıs
200 meters and 800 meters and recorded personal best times in both races.
McFadden is the Atholton High School graduate who won a court fight two
years ago for the right to compete in her wheelchair on the track at the
same time as her able-bodied peers and have her results count toward the
teamıs point total in local meets.
